Alexander graduated from Crimean Art College in 1987 and in 1989 — 1991 he studied at the Russian State University of Cinematography, Animation course. He lives and works in Crimea.

The artworks of Alexander participated at Art Russia Fair, Moscow, Russia in 2021, at Shenzhen International Watercolor Biennial, Shenzhen, China in 2015 −2016, at Masters of Watercolor Exhibition, Saint-Petersburg, Russia in 2015.
In 2016 he was awarded with the Silver Medal at Shenzhen International Watercolor Biennial (China).
In 1998 Alexander Votsmush participated in Sotheby’s auction «Art Link», Tel-Aviv where all the exhibited works of the artist were sold.
The artworks of Alexander are in private collections all over the world.
Alexander Votsmush is the member of International Arts Foundation and International Association of Artists (UNESCO).
His artistic activity outspreads also in the fields of music, cinema, poetry and literature.
Alexander Votsmush is the author of illustrated books with stories.
As a composer and singer, he has recorded several musical albums.
